I've just heard from Mikkel Aaland, director of the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Adventure 2008: Tasmania, and he shared that there are still two weeks left to enter the Win a Trip to Tasmania, Australia Sweepstakes. Here's the official blurb:
Follow in the footsteps of the Adobe Lightroom Adventure Photographers or create your own adventure on the beautiful island of Tasmania! Here is your chance to win a trip for two to experience the natural beauty of Tasmania first hand. Winners receive roundtrip economy airfare for two on Qantas Airways from one of their North American gateways - Los Angeles, San Francisco or New York City (JFK) - to the island of Tasmania and two nights’ accommodation in Tasmania.

Derrick. I couldn't resist posting a response here to urge your readers to enter this competition. I visited Tasmania some years ago and walked the Freycinet Peninsula on the east coast. This is pristine wilderness never occupied by humans. It's ravishing country, ecologically protected and with guides to assist in the walk. One of the great experiences of my life.
And the rest of Tassie as we Aussies call it, is glorious also. A photographer's dreamscape.
Hi Derrick,
Kate had also posted on my blog so thought I would come and check out this contest. I hope the winners realise they will need more than two days to see the island. I used to take a group of school children around in a 10 day trip and even that was rushed. At least three weeks is needed to see it all especially the areas of pristine wilderness mentioned by Kate.
I'm not half biased as you can see from my comments, but whenever I travel to other places around the world, I always take books about Tasmania to leave with my friends in the hope they will come and visit.
