Heading to New Mexico - Any Recommendations?

Seems like forever since I've been to New Mexico. But I'm going next week to teach my Photoshop class. I know many of you have visited the area, and I'm hoping you might share some recommendations for taking pictures. So what do you think? What should I not miss in the Santa Fe area?

I'm going to Santa Fe this fall in October. I'll be doing some hiking in the Santa Fe and Abiquiu area so please share what you learn about photographic sites.

Well its been pretty hot here (99 today in ABQ),
so water, sunscreen and a hat is a good start.

Beyond that, Highway 14 South from Santa Fe through Madris is always good for some shots. Or Highway 550 West past Bernalillo will take you some of the best scenery in NM. Jemez Springs, Gilmon Canyon. Cabezon. The Bisti Badlands if you really want something out of this world. You just missed full moonrise over the Sandias last night, but the view of the Sandias from the volcanoes on ABQ's west mesa is always good. Downtown ABQ is more interesting to shoot than downtown Santa Fe..
