I have bought and read "The Photoshop CS4 Companion for photographers" and am very happy I did so.

Before reading that book, I had tried to go through some very lengthy CS4 video training, but I had finally given up that training since the road to the fun stuff seemed so long and uninteresting. So I looked for an alternative at the bookstore and had the good fortune of finding Derrick's book.

Derrick has a real gift as he is able to explain complex subjects in a simple, very interesting and fun way. His book captivated me from the very start and I had fun applying his directives. I too discovered the magic of Photoshop while seeing some of my pictures go from useless to beautiful and my enthusiasm is renewed. The workflow he proposes makes real sense.

In conclusion, I am glad I bought his book and I look forward to read & hear more from Derrick.

Actually the CS4 book is above the rest. I couldn't pick up how to use CS4 for a long time, but really got a hold of the software after reading the book. Probably one of the best if not the best out there.
