  • Caption: Snow is a rare event here in Alabama, so of course I had to make some photographs. At first I was taking "documentary" style photos, just to prove that it actually snowed. (here's my mailbox covered in snow . . .) I began to see patterns in the snow as the setting sun provided side lighting. The contrast between the graceful curves and the grainy snowflakes was beautiful.
