Caption: I went with the scouts this Summer on a hike to the top of Mt. Charleston, just outside of Las Vegas. The hike was 18 miles round trip and "we" went from about 8,000 to nearly 12,000 ft on a Saturday. The hike just about killed me so I bailed out 3 miles from the top. At about the peak of my climb, I was able to photograph this beautiful wood formation.
